Set it up while you still have internet. Setup takes 20 minutes to about 2½ hours depending on your computer and connection; after that it needs no network at all.
What it does
- Offline and private. The model and the library live on your computer. Questions never leave it.
- Shows its sources. Every answer lists the articles it read, with the cited passage highlighted.
- Reads your files. Add your generator manual, medicines list or family plan (PDF, Word, EPUB, web pages, text).
- Updates itself when you are online, keeping your models, library and files.
What's in the library
About 930,000 of Wikipedia's most-read articles, WikiMed, MedlinePlus, WikEM, a UK medicines guide, Ready.gov, CDC, U.S. military and FEMA survival and first-aid manuals, the USDA canning guide, wikiHow, iFixit, Appropedia and more.
Everything: 8.8 GB download (19 GB installed). Essentials: 1.3 GB (3 GB installed), without Wikipedia and iFixit.
Install on a Mac
- Needs Apple Silicon and macOS 14 Sonoma or newer.

Install on Windows
- Needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
- Download Survival-LLM-windows.zip, right-click it and choose Extract All.
- Open the extracted folder and double-click Survival LLM.bat. If Windows warns you, click More info › Run anyway.
- One click downloads the AI engine (Ollama, 1.6 GB), then a model and a library.

Questions
Who made it?
Ronny Fernandez, released under the MIT license. SIREN did not build it and earns nothing from it. It is listed here because a cited, offline reference belongs in any bunker kit.
Is it medical advice?
No. It is a reference tool that shows its sources so you can check them. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first when you can.
What else belongs in the kit?
What belongs in a 72-hour prepper kit? covers water, food and power. What free tools belong in a bunker kit? has the rest.
